The cover of "Deceptive Calm" by Patricia Skipper strikes a balance between tranquility and intrigue. Its subdued color scheme, with the striking yet not overpowering red or golden bridge, invites curiosity. The blurred birth certificate in the background, featuring the names Vanessa and Rosalie amidst obscured details, hints at significant characters and the hidden aspects of Vanessa's origins. The grey-toned, blurred cityscape adds a subtle backdrop that enhances the cover's mysterious appeal.

Overall, the design successfully blends calmness with an undercurrent of suspense, effectively mirroring the book's nature. The cover captures the essence of the story, drawing readers in with its intriguing and enigmatic elements.

The cover of 'Deceptive Calm' draws me in with its peaceful picture of a bridge, calm water, and houses. But a mysterious paper in the background hints at secrets and troubles hidden beneath the surface, like the ones we all face

The cover is minimalistic and that I believe is the beauty of the same. The cover invokes a sense of calmness in the mind of a reader just like what the title suggests. So yes, it's an apt cover.

The cover is all about calm and the possibility of deception. The look of the still waters represents nothing better than calmness. Yet what lies behind that calmness can be a complex puzzle. I'm just beginning to read this book and I am excited to find more.

I liked the simplicity of the cover but what really stuck out, in my opinion, is how well it fit the title. Deceptive calm is no dissent than saying in an uproar, or rough (however you look at it) and the gentleness of the cover, yet having the Golden Gate Bridge was a perfect touch.

I believe that just glancing at the cover it is not very interesting, but once you really look at the details and get somewhat of a grasp of what the book is about it is quite interesting and definitely defines the book and its story.

I like the cover very much. I like how it manages to be eye catching despite not having bright colors or anything that is usually used to catch the eye. It has an elegant simplicity to it, and there is something deeply calming about it.

Patricia Skipper's "Deceptive Calm" cover appears to combine a number of important components in an eye-catching way. A well-known landmark, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, could indicate that the story is connected to a notable location or setting that is essential to the plot. An extra depth of intrigue is added by the overlay of a birth certificate, which might allude to issues of identity, secrecy, or even a mystery surrounding a character's past.
The placid yet slightly frightening image and the book's title, "Deceptive Calm," imply that the work may explore themes of hidden secrets or surprising turns beneath an otherwise serene exterior. The cover is both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking due to the clean design and basic color scheme that draw attention to these significant aspects.

I think the cover is decent, but also could have been better. I like the bridge and its reflection, which conveys a sense of something lurking under the water while there is a false calm above. It's also an iconic bridge. The image of the birth certificate seems to foreshadow a potential theme of the book, and the buildings give us a sense of place. I think my favorite part of the cover was simply the lettering and font of the title. It's the perfect choice, and the expansive spacing between letters creates a sense of suspense. I think overall, there could have been a bit more oomph with the cover to draw the reader in, it's almost too calm, verging on bland.

It's okay. It suits a long narrative book with a long scene play.
