One interesting part of today's BOTD is the fact that it is a research based on historical event of World War I. I'm sure that readers who enjoy well researched war stories which contains complex characters and descriptive scenes will find this a useful read. Thanks for the review.

Seems like an interesting poin of view. The author did a great job on the detailed portrayal of the morally complex protagonist, Ben Stendt. I'm not a fan of war stories. This book will find its readers. Higly recommended for fans of espionage and sabotage stories. Thank you for an engaging review.

“Saboteur” by Kevin Murphy is a chronicle of the dangerous journey taken by the French cargo ship Mont Blanc from New York to Halifax in 1917. The ship was loaded with explosive munitions for the Allied forces in WWI. The treacherous waters caused by storms delayed the arrival until November 1917. The story has a fictional plot but could easily have been a true story. The main character is Ben Stendt, a morally complex man that is a saboteur working with Germany which would make most American readers dislike him but his dedication to completing his mission is admirable. This is a historical thriller with plenty of intrigue, action and unexpected twists throughout the mission. The author completed thorough research about the time period, the details of the ships and the ongoing plots to sabotage supplies for the Allies. Readers will find this is an excellent story and they will be amazed with some of the exploits. While Americans would usually root for the Allies one has to commend Ben for his covert operations.

Few books succeed at combining historical events, real figures, and a captivating storyline. Read 'Saboteur' to savor intrigue, mystery, tension and much more. What lesser known facts will this book reveal about World War I?
