There are several things that made me want to read this book: the premise sounds really interesting and thrilling, I've read good reviews about the book, and I've read that the character development is amazing, which is one of the most important things for me in a book.

I was drawn to the book to explore the author's perspective. Writing about a nation's history is no small feat, and I was genuinely impressed with the outcome. Plus, I have a deep appreciation for anything related to Nigeria.

Even though I understand that we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, I chose to read this book solely based on its cover. I'm pleased I did because it turned out to be a fantastic read.
