I highly recommend this book to everyone. I am not a nonfiction reader generally but this book took me on a journey along with this family and I was definitely on boatd the whole way. It was extremely informative and sometimes heartbreaking, but also a beautiful story of the tragedy of childhood cancer, family bonding and the drive to never give up in the face of the unknown. This book taught me a lot about what parents go through in these situations and about the different treatments they do and are still developing for neuroblastoma. As a mother I connected with the parents a lot and admire the effort and research they put in for not only their child but for all the other children with this disease. I love that the father included his actual notes he took along the way for us to really see exactly what was going on, quotes from his wife, his oldest son, and the doctors, as well as included charts and excel sheets and pictures of Louis throughout the journey. It’s one hundred percent worth the read I promise!

A thought-provoking examination of the healthcare system.
