The book makes some good points about the need to closely examine medical vaccines and treatments because of their impact on people's lives. However, I feel that at that time, finding a vaccine was essential, even if there wasn't a complete understanding of its long-term side effects. I also believe the vaccine was effective since many people gained benefits from it.
