Yes! Having money to hand-out certainly is an efficient way to gain influence. Especially in the context of this book in which Richard is located in a region in which there is a great deal of poverty. Thank you for the feedback!
I am an avid reader. I typically read 1-2 books per week. I enjoy a wide array of genres including Sci Fi, Action/Thriller, and Historical Fiction.

As a geologist and christian, I also particularly enjoy books on science and faith.

I connected more with Richard, likely because he's the main character and the story is told from his perspective. This made it easy to feel what he felt, think as he did, and gradually understand him, even to the point of anticipating his next move.

Nice response! I agree. Having a main character fleshed out so well helped make Richard a relatable character!

I preferred Richard since I like the way he treats other people. This way he was able to get want he wanted from people by using money and that basically made him have many friends. I am inclined to think that this type of influence was very effective.

I found myself particularly drawn to the author, who skillfully navigates interactions with people from diverse backgrounds to unravel the mystery

While this book has a lot of characters with different role, I would have to say my best was Richard. He was kind and soft spoken.

I did not have any character I related the most to and I don't know why it is like that. I guess each character in the book just had the same appeal to me.

Richard stands out as my favorite character, his influence in the book and the way his character is portrayed gained my interest since most part of the book is being shown from his perspective.
