This is one of the sci-fi and fantasy books that I enjoyed reading. The plot has been developed in two worlds, Cosmos, physical world, and Caromentis, the magical world.

I enjoyed following Gelen's character. He showed great experience in his way of dealing with people as he goes ahead to acquire his late uncle's properties.

I also got thrilled when mages in the magical world and humans from the physical world crossed each other.

If you love easy yet gripping sci-fi and fantasy story, get this book and read.

I'm glad the book is once again a BOTD.

Galen's life afterwards seems like an adventure and a rollercoaster. The twist with his uncle's executor is also intriguing. Nice review. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

I’ve read and reviewed this book before, and I absolutely loved it! The young author has created a masterpiece with a rich plot that would make an excellent TV series. The language perfectly captures the medieval tone, with vivid descriptions like, 'his silken red beard swaying in the breeze.' Packed with adventure, magic, and mystery, it’s a must-read for fantasy lovers. Your detailed review highlights the positives, and both the book and author deserve the BOTD recognition. Thanks for the review!

The review provided valuable insights. The plot captivates as Galen embarks on a journey of discovery and adaptation in a foreign land, while the addition of the powerful mage Meldorath heightens the intrigue.

*We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies* by Matthew Tysz invites readers into a world brimming with magic, intrigue, and deeply human struggles. The story follows Galen, a young man fleeing a war-ravaged homeland, searching for peace and opportunity in the mysterious kingdom of Voulhire. However, the promise of a new beginning soon gives way to a maze of political complexity, hidden powers, and lurking dangers, thrusting Galen into a world far more perilous than he imagined.

One of the most striking elements of this novel is Tysz’s meticulous world-building. The kingdom of Voulhire is a vivid tapestry, with its sprawling cities, rural communities, and the political and magical currents that drive its society. Tysz seamlessly shifts between the perspectives of nobles, soldiers, and mages, offering readers a comprehensive and intimate view of Voulhire’s inner workings. Each character’s story adds depth to the world, making it feel vast yet personal, chaotic yet full of quiet moments of reflection.

At its core, this novel is about more than just magic and politics—it’s a meditation on power, destiny, and belonging. Galen’s journey is not just a physical one but a deeply personal exploration of identity in a world filled with conflicting forces. Tysz strikes a balance between action-packed scenes and philosophical reflections on leadership, morality, and survival. These moments of introspection give the novel a soulfulness that sets it apart from more conventional epic fantasies.

While *We are Voulhire* introduces a wide array of characters and plotlines, Tysz’s steady pacing and rich storytelling keep readers engaged. For those who enjoy epic fantasy, this novel is a promising start to a series that blends adventure with thought-provoking questions about what it means to find one's place in a fractured world.

“We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz is the first book in a seven-book series about a world filled with a very wide range of characters. The main character is Galen Bray, a young man that is escaping the war-torn Lands of the Princes because he will inherit his deceased uncle’s forge in Magnum Caelum located in the kingdom of Voulhire. Galen is looking forward to his journey in this new land. The book also explores the political environment of Voulhire. King Wilhelm suffers from paranoia and betrayal because he has a fear of being overthrown. Voulhire has a tense political climate with Midius Maido, the chancellor of the Mianoran Council and to make things even more chaotic Eldus Alderman, a former judge that has become Lord of Hillport and he is tasked with bringing back the town’s prosperity while dealing with the dark legacies of the former Lords of Hillport. I purchased this book, and I look forward to reading it and then moving on to the next book in the series.

I have read this book before and laude Matthew for creatively portraying the thin line between radical nationalism and selfish pursuits on one's individual goals. Thanks for your wonderful review.

One thing I really like about this review is how well it emphasizes the rich character development and intricate plot. I especially appreciate the way the reviewer highlights Rowan's personality, noting his humor, free spirit, and kindness, which makes me feel like he's more than just a background character.
