It is becoming more important these days to know how to deal with cancer. Either you will have it or someone you know and possibly love will contract the Big C. We know that a positive mindset and regular check-ups are part of our health strategies but what about when it affects us personally and emotionally. The memoir, "Stage Fright" by John Gore may deliver at least fifteen nuggets of information that can assist us in dealing with cancer and all of its effects. Mr. Gore and his wife struggled through some very rough times with cancer and this book is one of the results. It is a tome that contains their story and it can help many people deal with their cancer or help their loved ones deal with it.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Thanks for the fantastic review! However, I don't think that this book is for me. The story seems slow-paced.

The review is remarkable, highlighting every aspect of the book. I liked how the reviewer has appreciated the author's attempt of simplifying the medical terminologies for the readers. Indeed this book has at least one thing that each one of us can relate to. I enjoyed reading the book and your review too.

Facing cancer is an incredibly tough battle, and I deeply admire anyone brave enough to share their journey through writing. Their story allows others to learn from their hardships and connect with the moments of pain, joy, and resilience. I wasn’t expecting to find humor in such a narrative, but the author's positive approach makes the book even more appealing to me. I’m eager to dive into it. I also appreciate how his wife’s unwavering support shines through in these difficult times, and how he handled it all with grace. Your review is thorough, and while I feel like I already have a good sense of the story, I’m still excited to read it. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

I think the author was courageous to detail his fight with cancer, which could help others in similar situations. However, I don't read nonfiction, so I'll pass on this book.

“Stage Fright” by John Gore is a fascinating story about the author’s experience with throat cancer that spread to his lymph nodes. Gore had been transferred to the UK by his employer BP and after a short while in the UK he noticed a tightness in his neck, and he was having trouble turning his head. BP had great medical connections and within a two-week period he saw several different specialists. The throat doctor conducted a scope through his nasal passages and requested a biopsy. Gore went to AZ to play golf with his wife and 3 BP employees and their wives, noticed he could not play well without head movement. He received the biopsy result that he had stage 4 cancer that was spreading. The sample was excellent, and I felt like I was sitting next to Gore as he went through the medical procedures. I am going to read the entire book to learn Gore’s 15 rules for coping with cancer. This all began when Gore was 50 and he lived to at least age 75. I highly recommend this book.

John Gore's stage fright is more about his characteristically eventful life than the words of his book try to convey.
I am intrigued by the ups and downs of his life and how he narrates his long battles with cancer in a conversive and humorous way. His positive attitude gives readers hope in the face of terminal and chronic illnesses.
A perfect example of there is a light at the end of the tunnel. A perfect example of how love and positivity can literally add years to your life
