Review of The Date Farm
[Following is a volunteer review of "The Date Farm" by Jack Winnick.]
The Date Farm by Jack Winnick starts with the disaster in the Beverly Hills Mall. The intruders began killing randomly, the victims initiated alarms, and the LAPD and every security unit moved to the location. The attackers, after shouting a chant, “Allahu Akhbar,” took out pistols and killed themselves, marking the beginning of the unending terror and disaster in the book.
Lara, an adjunct agent for Mossad and an official agent of the FBI, is married to Uri. Lara’s father, Bert, is always scared of the impending predicament that will come to her daughter in this wicked world. Bert’s son, Bob, was a real estate developer who lived in town with his two children. Uri, an Israeli, is an undercover agent for the FBI. The young couple was on vacation, which ended because of the terror at the mall.
As the destruction is taking its toll in the United States, it is not the same in Iran. In Iran, Sheikh Zainal Abidin and his workers were in a lighter mood after executing a perfect mission, killing many Americans, penetrating their communication system, and distorting their electronic transmission. Like a bear robbed of her cubs, the United States was planning a retaliation while the Iranians were planning a major attack. What will be the fate of both parties? How will they perpetrate the plans? Will the pains inflicted on the US be pacified? Readers will find out from the book.
The book is an action-filled adventure. It takes the reader to a world of perceived reality and presents the high-level national problem and a Cold War situation. The assaults and retaliation heightened the twists and turns in the book as it kept the reader on its tail till the end of the book. I like the writing style. It made the narration captivating. It is descriptive, adventurous, explanatory, insightful, and educational. The editing is flawless.
The book title, The Date Farm, is symbolic throughout the book. The numerous actions are the positive aspects of the book. I do not dislike the book. There are no negative aspects to the book. I rate the book The Date Farm by Jack Winnick 5 out of 5 stars. The reasons for my rating are above. I recommend the book to avid readers. Security personnel will like the book.
