Kalliope Barlis, in this book, Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book, provides golfers with tips on improving the golf game, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player. This book serves as a guide on how to try out new golf techniques using the mind. For instance, people can improve their golf game by setting goals for the kind of golfer they want to become. The author’s main focus is on the mind; she encourages using neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to shape one’s thoughts effectively. Barlis highlights the mind's crucial role in improving golf performance and reaching life goals. She also covers the key skills needed to master golf, touching on physical and mental aspects. As an addition, she provides practical steps to enhance the overall golfing experience. The author also emphasizes the importance of practicing and building the skills needed to become a better golfer.

While it is clear that practice is crucial for improvement, Barlis argues that it’s not enough on its own. She believes that reflecting on your progress and maintaining a positive mindset about your achievements is essential for improvement. She talked about the importance of treating every golf shot as good because even bad shots offer lessons that help prevent future mistakes. She also suggested that the brain can't distinguish between memory and imagination, so a golfer can use their imagination to make their goals become reality.

I like that the author added pictures and sketches to the book; these enhanced the visuals, making it easy to understand many of the messages being passed. One other thing I liked about this book is that the ideas and techniques given by the author for one to become a better golfer can also be applied to other aspects of our lives like business, jobs, other sports activities, and even our personal lives, as the techniques aren’t just physical and are not tied to just golf.

I would recommend this book to golfers of all levels, both beginners and professionals. Everyone can benefit from this book, as the content is not limited to beginners or professionals only. I would also recommend it to anyone looking to learn about golf and what it takes to be a great golfer. I’m rating this book 5 out of 5 stars because I disliked nothing about it, and it was professionally edited.

Barlis’ emphasis on the mental aspect of golf, particularly through NLP, is a game-changer. I was initially skeptical about how much mindset could influence my performance, but after applying the techniques from the book, I noticed a significant improvement in my focus and results. This book has transformed the way I approach the game

The idea that the skills and practices presented in this book can benefit other aspects of life is something that really stood out to me. Barlis shows how the discipline, focus, and mental conditioning required in golf can be applied to everyday challenges. This book offers valuable life lessons that extend beyond the golf course.
