Matthew Tysz's We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies provides a lustrous dip into the fascinating world proclaimed by its author, which is replete with fantasy, intrigue, and multi-layered personalities. Tysz recounts the intertwined lives of the main characters—Galen Bray, a disgraced patriot and runaway refugee in Voulhire, and Eldus Alderman, a mayor destined to restore the glory of the city of Hillport—peaceful, but against a backdrop of civil turmoil and great threats of evil magic.

Galen's adventure begins with great hopes as he takes over his dead uncle's forge, hoping the fresh atmosphere will help him forget that terrible experience. However, his new peace is cruelly interrupted with his adjustment to the strange kingdom. On the other hand, Eldus also has his life, making the puzzle even far easier to do. In addition to the memory straddling a bridge of time, his known stress factor also makes its appearance as the marauding mage Meldorath. As these characters begin to expand, Tysz plays around with their stories, bringing everything together to paint an image of a detailed world on the verge of collapse.

A powerful addition to this novel is the ever-subtle yet distinct construction of characters standing at the heart of the story. They all come with their own color created out of interest, which helps in the entire discourse. These causes, combined with the preference to tell the story using different characters, enable a greater understanding of Voulhire as modified by Tysz.

The book stands out thanks to extensive and flawless editing of its content. The prose remains neat throughout, the audience is not destroyed by the typesetting, and the adding of a new personality is artistically performed. They also demonstrate Tysz's devotion to quality and detail in storytelling, enhancing the viewer's immersion.

All in all, the novel We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies gets the highest score of 5 out of 5 stars from the reviewer. Tysz makes sure that his well-structured and action-packed fantasy would get the readers coming back to Voulhire that critical next time.
