“Donny and Mary Grace’s California Adventures” by Catherine A. Pepe is a children’s book that touches on themes like mystery and adventure. The Miller family and their interactions with other people in the book form the core of the narrative.

In Wichita, Kansas, Donny and Mary Grace enjoyed a peaceful childhood with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Miller. Donny is a little child with Down syndrome, and his sister Mary Grace takes care of him. As a result of the bishop sending Mr. and Mrs. Miller on a missionary trip to Africa, they were forced to send Donny and Mary Grace to live with their parents in California. Mary Grace was upset by this new development because it meant she would have to part with her friends. She wished her family could stay in Wichita, Kansas. However, Donny was thrilled at the idea of moving to California to live with their grandparents. Can Donny and Mary Grace adapt to their new surroundings? To fully comprehend the contents of this book, I recommend reading a copy.

There are several intriguing aspects in this story that pique my curiosity. The author's unique writing style is really admirable and contributed to the book's ease of comprehension. I appreciate that the author of this book considered those with disabilities while writing it, provided advice on how to care for them, and encouraged and offered hope to both the individuals and their families. The book also featured mystery solving, and I really like how the Grandma Gang came up with ideas and solved problems. Because of the qualities I've mentioned above, I'll give the book a rating of five out of five stars.

I enjoyed how the book addressed themes of bullying in real life, including its causes, for example, how Donny was bullied, so I don't really dislike anything about it. I did not find a single error while reading this book, which is proof that it was exceptionally well edited. I will recommend this book to children because it best suits them.
