Icon Will I Ever See Those Days!

Post by Chinedu Umeobika »

Those days, those days, anything I would, surely I would!

Those days of effortless gains, where rewards flowed like rivers, so easy, like fire devouring dry wood.

Study for an hour, while my peers buried themselves for weeks, I score an A, but they only gather D's.

Whisper a prayer, while my peers prayed with fervor for months, I receive my heart's desires, while they collect only empty shards.

Flirt with a glance, while my peers give everything away, I win the girl of my dreams, while they are left hollow, emotionally drained.

Speak a single word, while my peers host endless interviews and seminars, I get called to lead, while they are left humiliated.

What would it take to return to those days? Surely, I would do anything—surely, I should. Anything I would!

Now I strive, yet nothing blooms!

Now I read for ages, yet the mind stays barren!

Now I pray for hours, yet answers slip away like sand!

Now I flirt, but remain as solitary as ever!

Now I host grand events, yet still, no recognition finds me!

Those days, those days, anything I would, surely I would!

What would it take to return to those days? Surely, I would do anything—surely, I should. Anything I would!

For those days, I would kill, I would die to glimpse them again, I would, I should!

'Those days' sound good. Like lyrics to a song but I know 'those days' and better things are yet to come and greater things are yet to come. 'Those days are these days'. Keep writing! Stay original! Chow!
