“Apollo’s Raven” by Linnea Tanner is an exciting action filled story about Celtic and Roman warriors that is a historical fiction and fantasy about Celtic Princess Caitrin that takes place in 24 AD. She has the unique ability to connect with ravens which is seen by her fellow Celtics as a bad omen. Caitrin falls in love with Marcellus, the son of her family’s enemy. Her unique ability enables her to see through a raven’s eyes and see what her enemies are doing. She hopes she can use this connection to break an ancient curse that was placed on her family when she was a young girl. Caitrin and her half-brother were destined to fulfill the curse by killing her father, King Armen. Her relationship with Marcellus is a forbidden affair that could end badly for her and her family. The book contains 400 pages of mystery, action, fantasy, love and loyalty. It is book 1 in the Curse of Clansmen and Kings series. Caitrin is determined to lift the curse and save her kingdom.

Thank you for the review. I love fantasy, and the mention of sorcery, shape-shifting, a prophecy, and an ancient curse is enough to tell me I'd enjoy reading this book. Princess Catrin has a tough choice to make, a disturbing gift to figure out, and an ancient curse to break. Sounds captivating!

A book on sorcery, forbidden love, and ancient curses, among others, will take us on a journey back in time. It also seems to have exciting characters such as Catrin, who connects with ravens in mysterious ways, and Marcellus whom Catrin falls for. Thanks for the awesome review.

This historical fiction novel set in Roman times narrates the story of Catrin, a Celtic princess with a dark secret. She is able to connect with ravens, an ability that puts her in danger. Her forbidden love interest in Marcellus adds an intriguing twist to the story. The unfolding events will keep readers glued and switching sides.

This book sounds incredibly engaging! The idea of a main character with a special bond with ravens really catches my attention. While epic fantasies aren't usually my go-to, I'm willing to give this one a shot. Congrats on BOTD!

I really enjoyed reading your review of Apollo's Raven! It sounds like Linnea Tanner has created an immersive and dynamic world with intriguing elements like the ancient curse and Catrin's connection to ravens. I’m especially interested in the tension between Catrin's loyalty to her family and her love for Marcellus—I'm a sucker for forbidden romance! Your point about the “breadcrumbs” being dropped throughout the plot really sold me on giving this book a try, as I love when stories keep me guessing. The small critiques you mentioned, like the use of modern words and the potential spoilers at the start of chapters, are great to keep in mind, but it seems like they don't take away much from the overall experience. I’m looking forward to diving into this mix of mythology, magic, and historical fiction. Thanks for such a detailed review!

This book is loaded with twists and turns; the author shares a narrative of the ancient Roman empire. The book explores the team of sorcery, deception, shapeshifting, and the like. It feels like a movie, and the readers will explore their imaginations in this book. I look forward to meeting the characters. I am particularly fascinated by that of Catrin; it feels like her whole world has reached a dead end. I can't possibly imagine what it is like for her to be living bound by a curse that has ravaged her family, coupled with being in love with someone from the family's enemy and having a weird ability to talk to Ravine, which is frowned upon in her town. Thank you for the detailed review. Congratulations to the author on being selected BOTD.

I like the fast-paced action promised by this book as a young princess Katrin tries to establish her place within the hereditary circles of her community. Her romantic overture with a young Roman nobleman is also interesting. Thanks for the review.

At the end of the day, this is an interesting and unpredictable novel. Catrin goes through a lot despite how young she is. Her evil half brother comes back from exile with the Romans bringing more complications to her life.
