I admit that the title and the cover gave me the wrong impression, but considering it is a mystery with different perspectives and great plotwist, I definetely would considering it as a future reading. Great review.

I dislike nothing about this review. It gives the framework of a film-noir like plot and praises the well-developed characters and relentless suspense. If the book continues like the sample I read, I strongly agree. The story begins with the graphic bloody murder of Harry Ma, and introduces us to Valerie Richard, a tough female detective with a recent divorce and a penchant for drowning her sorrows in alcohol. Can't wait to see what else is in the Fortune Cookie.

A very remarkable and concise review that gives the book its deserved flowers. John R. Johnson's tale presents a wonderful tour, and reading the sample already prompts me to dig further into Valerie's world.
