I have always wanted to understand how economies have evolved from the past to the present. This book is the answer to this need. I often wonder if some day we might go back to a more simplified economy that existed in the past.

An interesting book that considers why and how our economy is today based on looking at the past through a financial lens - back to the hunter-gatherer period. I enjoy history and think this provides a useful view to create a greater understanding of what drives us.

Undoubtedly, this book is a must-read for me. The review presents the book from a simple perspective that compels any reader to desire it. How the human economy has transitioned from the hunter-gatherers, beyond the market economy to data economy needs to be studied. David Rajan's "Past, Present and Future, an Economic Perspective" is truly a priceless gift.

This review makes Past, Present, and Future, an Economic Perspective sound incredibly insightful. The way the book traces economic shifts across history with triggers that redefine societal norms seems fascinating. I’m particularly curious about its take on the emerging data economy and how AI will reshape our world.

It is an intriguing idea, going back into the distant past to provide a blueprint for how economic principles developed in light of social and religious environments. Congrats to the author on sharing his knowledge with those of us less knowledgeable about socio-economic issues.

This is a book that, without a doubt, helps us clearly understand the history of humanity from the perspective of economics. It offers so much insight and information about each economy throughout history--more interestingly, it will give you an understanding of the triggers that provoked those historical changes that moved humanity from one type of economy to the next one.
