I thought with a title like Shucked Up that the book was going to be funny, and it was humorous when JJ seemed more concerned about the size of the fish that got away than the dead customer in his boat. :D Then it turns out that the dead customer is part of a bigger mystery that Mack and Drew set out to solve. Alex seemed an interesting character too, but I've only read the sample, so I'm not sure how he fits in. When I'm reading a series, I like to read the books in order, but I don't think I'd have to do that to enjoy this book. The review really makes it sound interesting.

"Shucked up" by Leelon Edwards sounds like a captivating mystery thriller and investigative novel. I only read a sample so far, and I'm already intrigued.

I like it that despite being the third installment, this book can be read as a standalone. Thank yiu for your wonderful review.

The review provided valuable insights. The plot is intriguing, combining a murder mystery with a Florida setting. I'm excited to dive into the book to see if Drew uncovers who poisoned Mack and whether Alex discovers who disrupted his life.

This sounds like a fresh storyline that brings something new to the fictional world. I can say Leelon Edwards must have done a wonderful job here. I can't wait to dig into Mack and Drew's Oyster-esque conspiracy mystery, along with the secondary plot featuring Alex. Congratulations on a huge Book of the Day! Excellent review, by the way, too!

“Shucked Up” by Leelon Edwards is one novel in the Mack and Drew series. This novel focuses on the oyster processing system in Florida where the federal officials have found that raw oysters carry disease as a result of the way oysters feed and sadly these diseased oysters can kill anyone that consumes them. The seafood industry needs oysters to turn a profit and maintain their livelihoods. The sample was amazing, and I felt like I was sitting next to Drew and Mack during their experiences. Federal agents have mysteriously died while investigating the oyster processing system. I want to read the entire novel to learn the outcome of this investigation. As a avid reader of mystery thrillers I can play amateur detective and pick up on clues and solve the crime. This novel is well written, and I really enjoyed the sample. I want to learn what happened to Alex’s wife and daughter and if he finds happiness again. This is an incredible novel that makes me want to read the entire series.

The review of *Shucked Up* by Leelon Edwards highlights a compelling mix of murder mystery and character-driven storytelling, which I found intriguing. I appreciate that the novel, while part of a series, can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, making it accessible to new readers. The plot surrounding Mack and Drew’s investigation into the oyster mandate’s impact sounds like it taps into real-world concerns while adding suspense with Mack’s poisoning. I’m also interested in Alex’s subplot—his routine lifestyle being disrupted adds a personal, relatable element to the story. The balance of logical clues and twists in the mystery seems like it would keep readers engaged throughout. Even though the pacing slows at times, it seems like a well-rounded and enjoyable read, especially with its vivid setting in Florida. I'll definitely consider this book, especially for its rich storytelling and layered plots!

The book sounds intriguing. I have never read one with a Florida setting and a murder mystery. I will be glad to read this one, and I am also curious to know how Mack tackles challenges in the oyster business and who attempted to kill Mack. Congratulations on BOTD!
