This book is one I wanted to praise yet I also wish it was easier to get into. The writer’s dense style of prose may make the book very unattractive for the wider readers, who might not be psychology or philosophy students. Although the book gives good observations of people's mental health in the digital era, a more direct approach by the writer would have made it even more powerful.

As insightful as it may be, I had to sit with a dictionary to understand some of the terminology. Takes the joy out of reading. A lot of information and new terminology to comprehend.

This book seems more of an academic treatise rather than a general read. It delves into the problem of mental illness through a new lens and contributes greatly to the social understanding of the problem. Thanks for the review.

Addressing topics like mental health in today’s world is very beneficial, especially in today's digital age. It’s thoughtful of Elliott B. Martin, Jr. to offer this book, which guides readers through the development of mental health ideas, the history, contemporary issues, and the impact of social media. I haven’t gotten far with it yet, but so far it’s been good, although it can seem a bit complex, which isn’t really my preference. Overall, it’s a great book, and congratulations on being Book of the Day! Wonderful review, by the way.

The author tackles the subject of mental health and relates it's prevalence in today's generation to the habit of being chronically online. The arguments and solutions are well-researched and laid out. However, the material is dense and verbose, hence only enthusiastic academics will enjoy the book.

I have read this book and it seems like the author uses common sense when it comes to what I think are a group of people stuck in a victim mentality; their morals and perception are holding them back

Hello,
I didn't read the book nor am planning to, but I enjoyed your review.
I am really glad that we are widely accepting mental health as an issue rather than it being lazy.

It is very important for every writer to have a clear view of their target audience, and equally, be passionate about them before they ever write a sentence. If Elliott B. Martin Jr had a fore view of his target audience, he wouldn't need to be told that when writing about mental illness, you shouldn't cause further mental illnesses with high vocabularies.
