This philosophical work emphasizes the importance of love in life. I believe that the reason we are connected to one another is love. We want to fit in with our culture and community at large because we happen to love and be loved. All religions too places a strong emphasis on it as an important part of the divine. God and mankind have a relationship based on love as well. Love, in my opinion, is one of the things that allows us to overcome the pains of life and find serenity. Ultimately, I have to admit that love is a big part of how we are shaped and shielded from our inner demons.

I'm not sure love is the only purpose for life, but more so growth is. You can live without love, but you can't live without growing. Anything's purpose can be boiled down to "getting to the next day" for whatever reason it is, but that is the final motivator is to continue on. I think there are other purposes than love that would motivate someone as well, such as happiness. One could argue that self-love is a form of love, and thus having the purpose to fulfill one's life with happiness is ultimately having the purpose of love. Overall, I think something like the purpose of life can't be boiled down into an emotion and be true for everything.
