Self-employment is good when the business is firmly founded. The book seems to shed a light on the success of the author who swung into their family business of ceramic tile installation. I hope to get some marble business insights for personal use. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

This is not my type of book, but I will recommend "Affordable Learning Guide: Concrete and Marble Polishing and Many Other Specialty Skills" by Giuseppe Fanone to anyone interested in restoration, DIY projects, or starting a business in the stone and concrete industry.

Your review resonates with me. I sampled the opening chapter and, like you, I found it very informative. I learned a lot about the differences between granite and marble and even how they fit in the Italian history. Like you, I am not a construction person, but I feel that this book can have a much wider audience than people interested in starting their marble polishing business. It can appeal to designers and anyone interested in choosing materials for their house renovation and how to renovate marble floors.

A very niche non-fiction book. Love it. If you are into construction stuff related to rocks, concrete, or marble, this book is well worth your time.
I write the best reviews possible. :idea2:

Already, this book has aroused my curiosity and I'm adding it to my list of "must-read" books. Information like these are not so easy to come by and giving it freely so easily is a great gesture. Thanks Giuseppe Fanone for writing "Affordable Learning Guide: Concrete and Marble Polishing and Many Other Specialty Skills". Thanks to the reviewer.

This is not a book I would choose to read, but I know someone who would greatly benefit from this guide. It will be my pleasure to translate it to him while diving in the world of stone and marble restoration, a field that I am completely unfamiliar with.

Unlike many other language schools, Fanone isn’t just about teaching skills, he also provides a pathway to financial independence, particularly veyr useful for people who didn’t go to school. It’s a refreshing change from being written in book form that focuses on techniques only.

The review of Affordable Learning Guide: Concrete and Marble Polishing, and Many Other Specialty Skills by Giuseppe Fanone seems like a technical book, like for a course for example. It does feel light reading for me, however I feel that the review did a good job with this review. This is definitely a book good book for someone considering a trade in the industry. Thank you for your concise review.

Due to the nature of the book, one might not find it an enjoyable pastime but it is definitely worth a shelf space. You might never tell when you will need it. Congrats to the author on BOTD

The book focuses on the skills that do not become obsolete as soon as you retire, pushing during one's senior years to keep on with activities and to generate income. This is something not shown as a unique selling point oftentimes seen in trade skill books.

Great review! I like that you highlighted how easy it was to understand, even for those with no prior experience in construction. The attention to detail, especially regarding tools and pricing, sounds really valuable. I can see how the minor editing issues might take away from the polished feel, but it’s good to know they didn’t interfere with the overall clarity. Thanks for pointing out the need for alternative glove options too!
