Pride and Prejudice is my absolute favorite - it has the elements needed in a good romance, including the tension between the lead pair, the family relationships. Jane Eyre is a bit more wild and a solo girl type of book.

Based on what I am hearing here it really depends a lot on your personality and when you read the book first which makes sense. I imagine most books are like that. I like JuliaKay's response that her opinion might change if she reread them both, now that she is older.

I first read “Pride and Prejudice” when I was young, for High School, and at the time I thought it was boring because all everyone did was talk. There was literally no action.

I read “The Tenant of Wildfell Hall” in High School and I could totally relate to all the stormy characters.

Fast-forward to my forties and I joined a so-called literary book-club and a friend wanted to reread the first classic she ever read and one of her favorites of all time, “Jane Eyre.” Not bad. Somewhere along the line I bought a boxed set of Jane Austen and I watched Emma Thompson's “Sense and Sensibility” and fell madly in love.

Now in my fifties I've read all of Austen's books multiple times and I’ve read a large part of the Bronte sisters works. I would say I appreciate Jane more than the Bronte sisters. In addition, I believe that Anne Bronte is under-rate. I like her work the best.

I have read Pride and Prejudice countless times and still feel excited when I see how Elizabeth and Mr.Darcy fall in love with each other, so P&P wins over Jane Eyre.

Defiantly, Pride and Prejudice! oh, I love that one! But Jane Eyre is pretty great.

I absolutely loved both, the first it full of twists, but both make my heart flutter every time. It is so nice.
