Now this has my interest!! Someone finally explored Christianity more thoroughly and with an open mind. Not getting stuck on what we are taught by Priests, Pastors and the rest. Really seeking the true word of Jesus and not just believe the Bible as it's stands now, which has been re-written so many times by man. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD and thanks for the free book.

I would recommend it also to open-minded Christians seeking a deeper understanding of their faith and to readers who enjoy theological discussions.

I found the review of *Christian Orthodoxy: A Closer Look* by Joseph Grogan quite insightful, particularly regarding the critical approach to the New Testament. The reviewer mentions how the author highlights discrepancies within the gospels and questions their authenticity, especially the fact that Matthew and Luke were derived from Mark, which I found compelling. The book’s exploration of Christian doctrine's evolution, influenced by external factors like Greek philosophy, and the critical view on salvation and the Trinity makes me curious to read it. While it seems like a challenging read for some, especially those deeply rooted in tradition, the review suggests the author ultimately encourages readers to focus on the moral teachings of Jesus. This emphasis on love, humility, and compassion as central values makes the book seem more about fostering understanding than discrediting faith, which I appreciate. I can see how it might be a stimulating read for those open to re-examining their beliefs.

The review provided valuable insights. The book appears to be intriguing, as the author explores whether the doctrines of Christianity are shaped more by history, culture, and interpretation than by the teachings of Jesus Christ. As a strong believer, I am eager to delve into it and discover the author's insights.

Thank you for this well detailed review.
It is true that most if not all religious practices of different religions are more informed by the culture and traditions of the people's past than actual doctrines.
In as much as the authors stance was pretty much belief-challenging, the author still maintained an unbiased stance towards religious and non religious people.
Congrats on BOTD.

"Christian Orthodoxy: A Closer Look" by Joseph Grogan urges modern Christians to reevaluate their beliefs, questioning whether they are influenced more by history and tradition than by Jesus' original teachings. Grogan effectively uncovers the layers of tradition that have obscured the simplicity of Jesus' message.

I think Joseph Grogan is brave to challenge doctrines that may have warped the original intention of the Gospel. I'm glad that even though he pointed out the discrepancies in the gospels, he tells readers to follow Jesus's teachings. I think that's the most important thing.
