Dear Heroin is a touching and eye opening book about the life of the author's son and his struggles with addiction. I commend the author for writing this book. I know that it must not have been easy to recall some things. Congratulations on making botd!

Not easy for a family that one of them has an addiction to drugs. Specially for parents. Hearing that dreadful words that nobody wants to hear. Personally I know a little about this since I once volunteer to help people with addiction to heroin and experienced some disappointments myself. This kind of memoir helps people understand how the whole family suffers from the addiction of one of the members.

It is true that addiction not only affects the addict but family and friends too who yearn to see the addict free. I admire the author's courage to write about her son. Congratulations on BOTD!!

The last thing a mother or any parent rather wants to hear is that their child is no more. Linda must have been so devastated and heartbroken. The book looks like a good read where Linda recounts her son's life, both the good and the bad and how addiction affects not only the one addicted but everyone around them before and after they are gone. Thank you for the review.

The review is well written and cohesive. Addiction is not just a disease and a suffering, but rather an epidemic that has become increasingly dangerous to future generations and society. My respect to the author for sharing her experience as a mother. Congrats on BOTD
Life is hard on its own so let's make it easier for each other if we could.

When the reviewer tells us that Mike was charming and well-liked and that he made friends wherever he went, I thought, I already knew that. There are so many young lives wasted on drugs today. Most families are affected by this epidemic. I admire Linda Morrison for sharing her son's story. It was a devastating loss for her family, and she brings you right into the raw pain of it by beginning her Memoir with Michael's death. I've only read the sample, but it sounds like a really worthwhile read.

Life is hard enough as the cost of living is a hustle, and I can understand why this mother is in a big battle over the son's addiction. This review gives insight into the life of an addict and how their addiction affects families as well. Usally, people don't give such topics lots of attention. I look forward to seeing how this addiction is managed within the family, its effect, and how they lived. Thank you for such a detailed write-up; it's engaging as well. Congratulations to the author on being selected BOTD.

"Dear Heroin" by Linda Morrison is a touching memoir that everyone should read. Addiction is a dangerous vice that has caused a lot of harm in our society, and I am glad Linda throws light on this through her son's story.

The book begins with Linda Morrison receiving a dreaded call informing her of her son's passing. She documents her family's highs and lows in this book. Mike, her son, suffered from heroin addiction. The author iterates that addiction is a family disease not because it's genetic, but because it directly and indirectly affects the whole family.

Addicts are the culprits for the society. With them their near and dear ones also suffer a lot. Getting started is too easy but stopping is just your choice. This book's storyline seems familiar. Congratulations on BOTD.

Based on the review, *Dear Heroin: A Memoir of Goodbyes* seems like a deeply emotional and impactful read. It’s clear that the author, Linda Morrison, poured her heart into this memoir, recounting not just the pain of her son’s addiction, but also the love and memories that defined their relationship. I was particularly struck by how the review mentioned Morrison's detailed recounting of events and conversations, showing the extent of her dedication. The review does a great job highlighting the book’s raw honesty and emotional depth, which makes me think this memoir is not only about addiction but about the unbreakable bond between a mother and her child, no matter how difficult the circumstances. I'm also impressed that the reviewer noted there were no editing errors, which shows the care taken in presenting such a sensitive story. This sounds like a book that requires emotional resilience to read, but it also seems to be a story that could offer solace and understanding to those who have been affected by addiction, directly or indirectly.

I agree that one's addiction affects the family just as it is inherited genetically within the same family. Thanks for the review.

A book written with a lot of love, heartaches, and hope of a mother for her son/child. I rarely read memoirs but I love to give it a try because being a mother is not easy job and learning from someone's life/personal experience can enlighten me more about life. Thank you for introducing me this book.
