Ansary is a great storyteller. I like that he is very descriptive. I also appreciate the editing. Even though grammar isn't exactly writing style, it certainly improves the reading experience for me.

The author's writing style has a way of keeping the reader's attention. In the book, they would mention something before moving on to speak of another subject and then returning to reveal more on what they had mentioned earlier. The author would also write events in a manner that would make the reader feel like they're witnessing them currently.

Overall, I thought the writing style was rather decent for someone who is not a professional author. The first section that focused on when he was growing up had the best story telling.

The author’s writing feels deeply personal, sharing transparent details of his life story. In recounting his early years, he offers insightful glimpses into the culture and life in Tehran or the broader Central Asian and Middle Eastern region.

The author wrote with a light touch, and I quickly felt engrossed in the story. He draws the reader in so they feel connected to his experiences. I thought the depiction of Iran during his childhood was fascinating, and I cared very much for Cyrus, especially when he was growing up.

Cyrus Ansary's writing style in the narrative is straightforward but rich with meaning fostering relatability. It's also both engaging and reflective, combining his insightful observations about the society and culture with his personal experiences.
