seems to convey that love and human connection can be powerful tools for transcending cultural barriers, although not without cost. Julia and Ki's story highlights the difficulty and value of breaking social expectations to pursue authenticity, and reminds us that in times of war and tension, personal bonds can defy even the deepest boundaries.

I enjoyed this review. The journey of forbidden love during a war always intrigues me. I liked the reviewer’s use of asking questions about what will occur. I cannot wait to get a copy of this novel.

I am unfamiliar with the American Revolution, but this book seems entertaining enough that not having the historical context would not be a problem when reading it. Julia's new life in America is certain to be an adventure.

Julia's life seems very unstable and unpredictable. The constant changes in her environment, being married to an abusive husband, bring kidnapped for ransom, etc makes me sympathize with her. I hope Ki made the right decision in the end.
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

I like historical fiction books a lot. I'm really curious about this one, as I'm rather fascinated by the American Indians as they such spiritual beings. So I'm curious to see how all this unfolds. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

This sounds like an intriguing historical fiction narrative that blends the American Revolution with romance. I would love to find out the decision Ki had to make between choosing his culture and community and being with Julia. It seems to be a difficult decision to make. I will read the book.

The novel beautifully portrays resilience, cultural struggle, and the power of love amid wartime turmoil. While a few editorial errors are present, the compelling story and well-developed characters make it a memorable read.

The Indian and me by Cathy Peebles invokes in me a deep sense of love and commitment not just for another person but towards oneself and the community that moulds each person. There is a reason why Ki has a struggle to pick sides .I am curious to see how the story goes. Thankyou for such a detailed review !

The story portrays the hardships faced during the Revolutionary War and imparts valuable lessons on resilience, love, hope, and the strength to take control of one's life in uncertain situations.

The book sounds interesting, but unfortunately, not appealing enough to actually read it, because the time period of the story, in my opinion, was extremely bloody, violent and cruel. Don't get me wrong, people fighting for their freedom is an admirable and inspiring feat. It's just the gruesome details I come across that make it unbearable. Then again, war is war and it's never pretty.
