When Eddie discovered the water at the Los Angeles Aqueduct Filtration Plant was no longer safe, he knew something was wrong. Soon, it was discovered the water had been contaminated, but who did it and why? Now it is time for Lara and Uri to investigate, and stop what seems to be a terrorist attack.

I am not a fan of books about terrorism, as I believe too many have suffered from it to make it a work of art (literature art). I am certain Jack Winnick made a fabulous work with this book, but I have to pass on it.

As highlighted in the review, the book seems to be a fascinating adventurous and intriguing story. I am captivated by the plot and the richness of details available while unveiling the details of what happened.

Eddie Moskowitz, an employee at the Los Angeles Aqueduct Filtration Plant, discovered dead goldfish and birds, leading to the suspicion of polonium water contamination, possibly a result of Iranian terrorism. Former FBI agent Lara Edmond and Mossad agent Uri Levin are recruited to investigate in Iran under new identities, fearing a larger Iranian plot. I would love to read more of this book.

Thanks for your great review! I read the entire series. I reread the sample to remember the story. Yes, this is the fifth book. All of them amazing! This one is about our water supply that is vulnerable to terrorism. Uri and Lara work together to help stop the threat! The author educates the reader about terrorism and the brave people that are protecting us.

This sounds like a fantastic spy thriller,I like the fact that even though this book is a fictional story ,the fact that the technologies are available makes it scary and relatable. For anyone who enjoys spies stories , investigative trillers and the suspense that comes with it ,I would recommend the BOTD,a caution for those that are anti USA or Israel ,this may not be your kind of reading, great review overall.

It looks like the fifth installment of the Lara & Uri series will be just as exciting as the others! I'm curious to watch how this develops because I had never seen water poisoning as a kind of terrorism. I also like books with lots of details. I appreciate the wonderful review. Congrats on BOTD.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting thriller novel following two government agents, Lara and Uri, who after being informed of strange events surrounding a water processing and testing plant outside of Los Angeles, are tasked with investigating any potential terrorist involvement. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

"Waterworks" by Jack Winnick is an exciting, intense mystery thriller about the darker side of human nature. It is a beautiful tale that gets entangled in a very complex investigation, keeping readers on the edge of their seat.
Strengths:
1. Complex plotting: Winnick somehow connects all the different lines of the plot with many twists and turns.
2. Atmospherics setting: The waterworks provides a unique and eerie backdrop.
3. Well-developed characters: Very complex motivations and depth.
4. Themes of corruption, power, and deception.
Weaknesses:
1. Pacing problems: Some of the sections are too rushed, and some are slow.
2. Character development: Supporting characters could be explored in more depth.
Key Takeaways:
1. Unpredictable twists and turns.
2. Exploration of human psychology and motivations.
3. Tense, suspenseful atmosphere.
Recommendation:
"Waterworks" is for those fond of the mystery and thriller genres (like Agatha Christie and Stephen King).
For those who enjoy intricate, suspenseful storylines.
For those who relish themes involving corruption and deception.
Rating: 4.3/5 stars
Critique:
Winnick's masterful plotting, atmospheric setting, and really well-developed characters might at times feel like a flaw of pacing, which is a quality that makes "Waterworks" one hell of a read.

Jack Winnick is great writer. This is evident in his "Waterworks', beautifullly strung together to readers' delight. Based on his expertise, one could hopefully imagine Lara and Uri freed from their dealings with the Iranian terrorists in the nearest future. Congratulations on being BOTD. Nice review.

I appreciate the good flow of events in the book, but I tend to gravitate towards stories that focus on different themes outside of political topics. Thank you for your thorough review.

'Eventually, it was believed that the water was contaminated with polonium, an exceedingly rare type of toxic radioactive material that is difficult to discover.'
I guess these terrorists can go this low to accomplish their goal.

"Waterworks" by Jack Winnick, is a thrilling investigative encounter worth reading. Lara and Uri representing the skills and expertise from FBI and Mossad make the whole story exciting as I feel anxious to enjoy a detectives' encounter.
