In the heart of Linden Wood By Ekta R. Garg is fantasy. King Christopher, a young king in his deepest grief from losing his wife and child. A ruler whose kingdom is known for its magical wood. Finds that the forest has mysteriously grown ill, and King Christopher is taken on a journey to find a way to heal the disease while also facing rebellion. On his path, he rights his wrongs and the wrongdoings of his father. Creating friends with those had wronged, strengthening his relationship with his oldest friend Martin along the way. Learning what kind of man he is and what kind of king he wants to be.

I love fantasy and fairy tales, so I was very excited to read this. I was instantly absorbed into the story. The author did an amazing job of creating characters and situations that cause the reader to care about what happens. The characters had their own voices and were well-written. The motivations and actions of each character suited them. I think the character arcs, although simple, were sound. The author has a way with words, a talent in the descriptions of the scenery. The author created a beautiful fairytale full of love, loss, and healing. I felt like I was there, seeing and feeling what they did. One of my favorite parts was that even though Christopher felt the loss of his wife and child so deeply and felt so alone, her parents remained there, loving and supportive of him. King Malcolm and Queen Celia taking care of him and the kingdom in this time of their loss. Showing him love, trust, loyalty, and that he was not alone.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From the very first scene, I was invested, and I couldn't put it down. It is very easy to read. I kept finding myself holding my breath as I read. Worrying for the characters and wondering what was going to happen next. The author does an amazing job of evoking strong emotions in the reader. I have nothing negative to say about this book. I connected with the characters. It wasn't sluggish or boring at any point. I didn't notice any typos. It seemed to be edited very well. This story was an absolute dream to read. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
