You can tear at my soul
You can crack my teeth
But you can't take my joy

You can lie about me
You can steal my name
You can follow me around
You can call me insane

You can paint a picture
Of what you think I am
You can drown me in the mire
Of sinking sand
But you can't take the smile
That dances on my face
God's gift
Nobody can take

I shall wake up every morning
A jump in time and space
Rejoice! Rejoice!
You can't take my joy!
