Sounds like a perfect revenge story for me and I am definitely rooting for Mario. Whenever injustice against black people is mentioned in a book, I expect a remarkable plot. This book has a beautiful storyline. Congratulations on the book of the day.

I am reading this book, and the writing style is captivating. The story is indeed about racism, and I hope there's a good ending. Thank you for your review. I appreciate it.

Terrance J. Aldridge’s “Southern Justice” is a gripping 1961-set tale of Mario Jacobs, a martial artist seeking justice for his grandparents’ racially motivated deaths. Tackling racism, corruption, and resilience, it’s a suspenseful, well-narrated audiobook with intense themes. Despite its violence, the powerful story earns a perfect 5/5 stars. Thank you for the amazing review!

I really connected with Virgil and Sarah. They felt like real people with complex emotions and motivations. I especially admired their dedication to uncovering the truth, even when it put them in danger.

Thank you for your honest review. I'm glad you enjoyed the audiobook. I did like the book from what I have read so far. It is hard for me to read some of the things that happened to blacks back then, but sadly it is the truth. Without learning from the past, and we have to know it to learn from it, we can't change the future. After reading your review, I have added it to my list of books to read.

I can't imagine the pain of loosing too parents all at the same time. It must be devastating for those who are unfortunate to experience it. I wonder what Mario will eventually do if he manages to uncover the truth. This sounds like as interesting book.

Thank you for your review. I sampled the book. Mario, a stand-up man is professionally trained to protect himself. He tenderly cares for his parents after the family hears that his grandparents were killed. Taking charge of the situation, he investigates the scene of the crime and looks for the murderers himself. Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.

I love suspenseful and fast-paced crime thrillers. I think I will read the book to experience the difference themes and settings portrayed in this book. I would also love to follow through Mario's story and find out whether he managed to identify his grandparent's killers.

“Southern Justice” by Terrance J. Aldridge is a story that takes place in Duncan, Mississippi in 1961. Duncan was a very racist small town where white people accounted for 75% of the residents and the whites lived on the west side of the railroad track while the blacks lived on the east side. The civil rights movement had barely begun so blacks were really treated badly. Mario Jacobs, a 26-year-old black man highly trained in martial arts, learned the news from his mom that his grandparents that lived in Duncan were dead as a result of a car accident and it looked like someone ran them off the road and their car exploded and they burned to death. The police in Duncan covered up crimes committed by whites against blacks, so the Jacobs’ family knew the police would not find out what really happened and who else was involved. Mario packed knives, guns and martial arts throwing stars in his suitcase because he was determined to investigate the deaths as murder. My comments apply to the sample but I plan to read the entire book to learn the extent of Southern Justice.

Am not a very sensitive reader so, I know I will enjoy reading this book. Historical fictions are always great and I would like to listen to this one as a audiobook based on how you've described the narratiion.
Thanks for the engaging review!
