Being a person that has a family of narcissistic people around them, that very much so affected how I grew up, I am so happy too find out this book exists. I still deal with them all on a regular basis unfortunately, and am trying to get better at setting boundaries. I will definitely be adding this to the multitude of other books on my TBR list!

I have already ordered my book. I find this topic very interesting to understand why people do the things they do. I also feel like my husband has a family member that has this tendency and it may help me to better understand why it is he does what he does.

Before I ever knew what the term narcissistic meant, I disliked people who were arrogant and self-centered. I love that this book is going to clearly define the terms for those who do not know it and the different forms it comes in. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

I would like to read the author's story and how they explain the behavior of narcissistic parents especially from the lens of a wife with a child. This book is very important to understand narcissistic behavior in parents but it contains strong themes which are too close to home for me so I can't read it now. Maybe in the future.

The thought of how a parent can be narcissistic towards his or her child makes me sad. Thanks to the author, Kelly Todd, for writing this book.

This seems like a very sad and heart wrenching book. Being unloved by your own family is sad. I'm very curious to find out how the author dealt with it.
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

I am so sorry for this child, because, in my belief, children must have unconditional parent love. Growing up we rarely have perfect happiness, so childhood memories should be our anchor, a beacon of hope, something to fall back on and weather the storm. Anytime I encounter the story of this ripped from a person, it simply breaks my heart. Sincerely congratulations on BOTD!

I appreciated how clearly Kelly explains the dynamics of narcissism. She breaks down complex concepts in a way that's easy to understand, even if you're not familiar with the psychology behind it.

Well, the main victims of narcissistic people are the ones closer to them. However, I'm glad that this book is not only about the way narcissism is displayed; it shows readers how to heal from it.

"Healing from Growing Up with a Narcissistic Parent" by Kelly Todd is a very interesting story since I cannot imagine the difficulties, I would have had living with a narcissistic parent. Fortunately, I grew up with two very loving parents. This book explains narcissism, the different forms of narcissism and details how one can heal from it. Todd told a story about a narcissistic woman who was a wife with a child. Her husband adored her and they seemed a perfect couple. He opened up to Todd and shortly after that he took his own life. Todd used this approach of telling stories that made it easier to understand narcissists. I have worked with narcissists and it is very obvious that some politicians are narcissists since they believe only they can fix problems. Growing up with a narcissistic parent and feeling unloved has to be a very hard way to start one’s life. I need to read the book to learn if children of narcissists tend to be narcissists and can two narcissists live as husband, wife and parent. I wish the sample included a few pages of the book. So, I had to rely on the short description on Amazon and the official review for me to write my comments on the official review.
