'The author takes readers back in time in eight "stops," which are different chapters detailing historical figures that he considers notable. These figures include John Winthrop, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan.'
I'll like to know more about these historical figures.

Anyone that is not interested in any kind of History should not read this book. Starting out it seems to be long I enjoy history so I enjoy reading what I read I honestly didn't finish reading the book but I read enough and I will go back and I'm going to finish it. I enjoy history and I enjoy learning and reading over other things that I did not know about.

Bob Dowell's book America in Context: A Pursuit of the Exemplary explores American history via eight thought-provoking chapters that include notable figures such as Jefferson and Lincoln. Reconnecting with America's basic ideas is emphasized in the book, which also considers the country's difficulties.

I have read and watched a bit of Abraham Lincoln and can understand the author's point of view of the old and current America. I just got a free ebook to explore more. Thanks to the author, and congrats!

As highlighted in the review, this book is an informative opportunity for readers. As a matter of fact, it can be described as an introductory guide to American history, that shares details on important past events and personalities.

Non fiction books are not my cup of tea but the review is well written. The book provides us with the information about the people who "helped progress and enhance the lives of America’s citizens". Besides its structure makes it an excellent educational sourse, so I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

It is important to understand the basics of your country's history. This book seems like an accessible and useful resource to US history. I'm not American. And I don't live in America. though I don't know much about the important historical events, I have no interest in reading this book atm. Thank you for your informative review.

America in Context: A Pursuit of the Exemplary by Bob Dowell .The reviewer has highlighted how the author has used an approach that makes it easier for the reader to absorb the contents of the book. Perceptively how it serves as a reminder on the foundational principles of the nation. I like that fact that it can be used for educational purposes and by patriots. I will definitely enjoy reading this book.
Thank you for the review!

When standards, values and principles are watered-down, compromised or violated, the result is often chaotic, if not near catatonic.
"America in Context: A Pursuit of the Exemplary" by Bob Dowell revisits America's historical context, covering moments before and after the American Revolutionary War, before and after the American Civil War, and before and after the Jim Crow laws.
Patriotic Americans will find this book thought-provoking!

Definitely not my cup of tea, because I am not an American and have no idea about the actual geopolitical situation in the country and therefore am unable to form my own opinion to agree or disagree with the author. Nor am I interested in historical people that had no influence in my part of the world.
