A book that gives us insight into the lives of eight American historical figures sounds like a great read for history buffs.

Thank you for the great review.

Thank you for your review. I read the first two stops on the author's tour. The author offers an in-depth historical insight about the Puritans: their reasons and plans for America, referencing Bible scriptures as the foundation. In the second tour, the author offers another in-depth historical insight into our Declaration of Independence. A nice easy-to-read book for anyone to learn about the foundation and principles of the United States of America; its beginning, and as it continues to be the greatest country in the World. Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.

"America in Context: A Pursuit of the Exemplary" by Bob Dowell is a non-fiction book that focuses on historical events in the US. Dowell takes readers back in time with eight stops where notable historical figures are reviewed. Dowell believes the US is in decline and Americans need to review history and re-understand the values that founded our country. This is an incredible book that all members should read. Our country is on the brink of losing our constitutional republic as a result of the lies told in campaign promises. Is it too late to stop the destruction of our country? This book is remarkable, and I wish Dowell would add to the present, the eight stop 2024, and discuss what Americans can do to regain what our founding fathers envisioned. Bring back non-partisanship, bring back a Supreme Court that Americans can believe in. Bring back Congress working for what is best for America, not just their greed for power. Our founding fathers foresaw a narcissist becoming president and would try to undo all that we have been proud of for close to 250 years. They thought they had put the checks and balances in the Constitution to stop a wannabe dictator. Sadly, our upcoming leadership is not exemplary.

The book urges the American people to remember the country's foundational values and the great deeds of the founders, but I'm skeptical of the strength of its message towards the younger generation, especially when those figures don't share the same values as today's. There's also the fact that many narratives paint a nation in decline even though today's people are far better off in terms of living standards.
I write the best reviews possible. :idea2:

This book takes the reader into several historical events in the United States. As someone who is not from the United States, I find this an intriguing book, but not something I am completely interested in. I also disagree with the author in the need to go back to the founder's values.

The book is organized into eight sections or chapters, each dedicated to significant historical figures such as John Winthrop, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan, providing historical context for each figure, making it easier to understand their contributions and the impact of their values on the development of the country

Today's BOTD is quite an interesting book that calls for the younger generation of Americans to reevaluate their values in perspective of the ideals held by her founding fathers. It is a call for a cultural, social and moral reawakening. This is a great review.

I'm not really interested in America's history in general, but this seems like quite a read. I think reading how those presidents run the country before would be rather different from what's happening now, and that should be interesting. If things could go back to what it once were, life would be better, I'm sure. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

Thank you for your great review. I think we need to be reminded of how great our country was and I pray for all of us that it'll be great again. That's wonderful that there were no errors. I do like the author's style of writing. After reading your review I have added it to my list of books to read.
