Any advice?

Post by Morrosseth »

I would love to be able to share all the story ideas I have with everyone. But everytime I write, it sounds like a madman's ravings. Although in one of the stories the main character is a bit mad. I'm using short, punctured sentences and I know I shouldn't. I've told myself before that I can just write it for myself, but I'd like to share it with someone and have them enjoy it and maybe learn something in the process.
I don't know what to do. :( Nothing is coherent to anyone but me.

No no.. Dont think its for yourself. The more you share, more will you get ideas. So, better start sharing. But dont puncture the sentences. Use good english with good vocab.

Read Tom Wolfe. Then, you won't have to worry about sounding like a madman. He's great. Also, the true work in a writing is going into your second, third, fourth and fifth drafts. Who cares what the first draft sounds like? You start bringing things into focus with subsequent rewriting.
