It depends upon mood and occasion. I don’t have any problem with any so use both.

I love pens. Pencils annoy me, I don't like the scratchy way they sound. It's one of my strange pet peeves.

I have very heavy handwriting, so I usually have to use a pen , or else I smudge the graphite everywhere. Though, once I used a pencil for an in-class essay and later discovered the whole thing had somehow been written both on the paper and on the desk. I never knew I could force a pencil to bleed through. The teacher asked me if I was trying to help someone cheat, haha.

I'm all about the pen! But my ultimate dream is to buy a big house with lots of space and cover the walls with chalkboard paint and write that way. Not sure why I find that concept appealing, but I most definitely do.

...Hey people! I'm new, but I've been writing stories since I was about---6 or 7. Seriously! Anyway, hmm...what do I prefer..well, sometimes I like to write in pencil, but pens are so much smoother. And you don't have to constantly sharpen it. The only problem might be is that if you mess up, or you write a word, then want to change it, all you can do is cross it out, and put white-out on it, but you can't erase is...So I don't know. Maybe I prefer pen better..maybe they're both the same. I guess it could be-(look below)-

PEN 57 %
PENCIL 43%

I greatly prefer pens. In high school I had a small diary and every entry was written in pencil; already, after only three years, most of the writing is so faded I can barley read any of it.

I use pen. A ball point pen. But using pencil sometimes is really good. You can erase wherever you commit mistakes and edit.
