I'd love to learn from the author's experience. Unfortunately, it's heartbreaking that he endured an abusive childhood.

There were so many people whose path was similar to the author's: from being abused as a child to becoming a teenage addict. Thankfully, the author turned the narrative around and the world can listen to their story.

Audiobooks are not my favorite type of books, but knowing the author narrated it himself has me interested in learning how he overcame his challenges. Thanks for the review!

I tried to find the audio book version of this book on Amazon, perhaps mine is simply glitching, but I do better with audio books. That said, however, I definitely enjoyed reading this book as well, I agree with you that this was a very thoughtful memoir and definitely something the world needs. I loved how vividly the author explained everything they went through and how it impacted their life. Their sponsor's intro was definitely from the heart, showing how much the author meant to him. Very incredible read.

The author speaks about his abused childhood, which later made him vulnerable to addiction. The author makes sure that the narrative is not boastful but rather an attempt to help others going through a tough phase. His ups and downs and how he overcame it all give a reader the motivation needed to triumph.

I enjoy audio books, though there are some downsides to it which includes really focusing on what you are listening to. For those trying to find their way after encountering difficult times, this memoir will be a good fit. Congratulations on BOTD.

I completely agree with this review. Johnnie Calloway's memoir, "Dragons and Butterflies", is a powerful and inspiring story of overcoming adversity. The author's narration brings an added layer of authenticity and emotion to the story. I appreciated Calloway's honest and humble approach to sharing his experiences, and his willingness to credit the people and programs that helped him in his recovery. The story is engaging, motivational, and a testament to the human spirit's ability to overcome even the toughest challenges.
