for me. I ran into everything head first, hoping to find the one thing, one person, or substance to make me OKAY."

What a powerful statement as I knew what he was saying. I did this myself in my aftermath of childhood trauma and abuse and had turned to addiction. This book gives an in-depth look at a person who can and has found his way to "other side."

Was it easy? NO. But with the bravery and courage, Johnnie has found along his journey some peace and serenity and let it go! Life events are just as traumatic, like the death of a parent, which affected the author deeply when his mother passed at his age of five. He spent years blaming himself that he held part of her passing. It started a cycle of self-sabotage and feeling unworthy of anything good in his life.

Reading this book is must read for all and shares no matter how deep our past pain and scars are?

We can we recover no matter the roadblocks in our way!

Johnnie is now on a quest to share what he has learned along his journey to share and give hope to others. Just an amazing true story and read

I am sorry to say, but I don't like memoirs as a genre, especially those that are retelling stories about a troubled childhood and the consequences it bears in adulthood. I have great respect for people able to overcome such issues, but prefer to pass this book. Still, congratulations on BOTD!

This is a book about transformation that shows how the author overcame life challenges and addictions to live an empowered life. The book does not sugarcoat it. It is precise with blunt truths.

Granted, this is hardly a new take, but I too prefer reading books than listening to audiobooks. This is not because I am old-fashioned perse, but it is rather because I am easily distracted when listening rather than reading. I guess I could use some practice. Yours is, however, a great review. Good job.

Johnnie Calloway's honesty in sharing his life experiences is admirable, and I appreciate that the book is based on real-life events.

Yet to begin using an audiobook bit I bet this is definitely going to be my first because it seems so nostalgic, judging from the wonderful review.

Oh my gosh, like, totally agree with this review! I mean, listening to this audiobook by Johnnie Calloway was, like, totally amazing. His story is so emotional and inspiring, and hearing it in his own voice just made it even more powerful. And can we talk about how genuine and down-to-earth he is? Like, he doesn't try to make you feel sorry for him, he just tells it like it is. It's so refreshing!

I also loved how he gives credit to the Twelve Step Program and A Course in Miracles for helping him turn his life around. That's, like, so awesome that he's spreading the word about these programs that really work. And, like, his high school English teacher? What a champ! Teachers can make such a big impact, right?

I have to mention that the audiobook itself was, like, totally flawless. No errors or anything. And even though the sound quality wasn't always consistent, it wasn't a big deal. You could still hear everything clearly.

So yeah, overall, I'd totally give this book, like, a five out of five stars. It's a must-read for anyone who loves memoirs about overcoming obstacles. And if you know someone struggling with addiction, this book could be, like, a source of hope for them. Seriously, this book is, like, totally amazing! Intriguing premise, captured my attention instantly.

Seems like I am not the first one to make this comment but audiobooks are also difficult for me! I usually only listen to them when I am making a long drive, and I happen to have a 20 hour drive coming up this month, AND my son's name is Calloway. Feels like a sign!

Listening to someone's story is always touching. I personally enjoy listening to people's struggles and advice. Although I have never had an audiobook, I would be open to it. This book is an interesting story. I might listen to it or read it in the future. Thank you for your amazing review.
