I had to think about this a bit : P it is easier for me to come up with sad songs... but there are two songs which made me laugh (they still make me smile each time I give them a listen) and both are from Tim Minchin:

- If You Really Loved Me
- Inflatable You

And both of these are not only funny, but quite clever too, quite clever...

Leaving out some political ones to avoid offending, I would have to say, "Re: Your Brains," by Jonathan Coulton. Watch the live version on YouTube. For the next month, you'll find yourself randomly humming, "All we want to do is eat your brains. We're not unreasonable. I mean, no one's gonna eat your eyes."

And of course, Cows with Guns! Who doesn't love Cows With Guns? Drama, suspense, bad cow puns!

I'll include "Show Them To Me," because it's hilarious, but be careful with this one. Older folks and feminists will likely find it horribly offensive, which is deliberate on the part of the singer. He's a country music comedian. It's all about how, when faced with a pair of female breasts, a man is incapable of thinking of anything else, and therefore women have the power to bring about world peace. Don't watch the concert version with young children in the room. It's a tradition amongst his fans to stand up, lift their shirts and show them off when he plays that song.

Cows with Guns was brilliant - the first time I heard it I got a pain in my side laughing.

My all time favourite though has to be Ray Stevens & Eric the Awful

"He'd turn to his oarsmen in his 37 oared fj-ord and he'd say: "MORDEN BORDEN
FJORDEN GORDEN!" which was Viking for:
"YA-HOO!!!!!, RAVAGE, PILLAGE, PLUNDER,
MAIM AND PUT BIG HICKEYS ON ALL THEM FAIR DAMSELS!"

Now how could you surpass lyrics with such poetic sensibility? ............

Just checked out Erik the Awful. You're right -- hilarious! Sending it along to a friend who's into viking lore.

Well I don't know if it really qualifies as Viking lore but I'm sure your friend will get a laugh

Anyone remember Tom Lehrer? When I was a kid, a friend's grandfather had a lot of old albums he'd let us listen to. Some were Tom Lehrer, from the mid-60s. Song for World War Three, The Vatican Rag, The Masochism Tango ( which was just... odd).

Ive got some of Tom Lehrer albums. He was different, thats for sure.

One I heard the other day. That classic great romantic ballad Id Drink That Old Green River Dry Just To Get To You by The Firehouse Five Plus Two. Now thats dedicated true love.
"I planted some birdseed. A bird came up. Now I dont know what to feed it." Ramblings of a retired senile mind.

I think the funniest CHRISTMAS song I've ever heard is 'Who Put The Stump' by Bob Rivers. Good version at YouTube.
