This book argues that the current education system in America fails to adequately teach critical thinking, civics, and history, leading to a lack of informed citizens and contributing to social issues.

Thank you for your insightful review on "Blame This on ‘Nam Too- how education became indoctrination and what you can do about it" by Thomas Rowley. This is a non-fiction book that introduces an argument for changing education in America. The author is an ex- veteran and professor and includes his expertise, experience, and intellect in the pages. The book highlights educational shortfalls that result in social issues. Lack of critical thinking, civics, and history in the curriculum can be related to anti-social behaviour, protests, and criminality. I enjoyed and agree with the discussion of the lack of education and understanding being a cause of these problems. I don't know when they stopped teaching Civics in High School but because of that young adults lack knowledge of the United States history and the Constitution which is so important and currently the subject these days. I wasn't going to read this book but then changed my mind after reading the sample on Amazon. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

Nice review! I do not have children in school anymore, but it still is a concern. I have noticed that the younger generation is sometimes ignorant about our history and important events that took place.

This book is very thought-provoking and a powerful craft. Education system in my country also needs change. It's not very future oriented. As the review says, this book also offers tips on critical thinking and an action plan for change. That make this book universal and invaluable. I'm excited to know more.

Blame This on ‘Nam Too- How Education Became Indoctrination and What You Can Do About It by Thomas Rowley is a book everyone should read. The educational system has become a trap that hinders instead of helps.

Looks like this book has up-to-date examples and makes you think about how to improve education. Everyone knows that education today is flawed, but few can develop a clear roadmap like this book does.

Well-written and researched, today's BOTD is a nonfiction read that's thought-provoking and important. Readers interested in educational reform in America, particularly teachers, parents, and advocates, will walk away not only feeling better informed about necessary changes, but also motivated to take the next steps toward positive change for the youth of the future. Excellent review! Thank you so much!

I agree that something has to be done about the education system. Schooling is an avenue to train one all-round, in a way that one can be an asset to society. Sadly, a lot of people come out of school to pose a problem to the society that needs their positive input. I applaud the author on the masterpiece.

*Blame This on 'Nam Too* by Thomas Rowley critiques the transformation of the educational system, particularly in the United States, which, according to the author, shifted from a focus on fostering critical thinking to becoming a field of ideological indoctrination. Rowley argues that after the Vietnam War, the educational system became increasingly influenced by a political agenda, limiting the diversity of ideas and suppressing students' ability to think independently. The author suggests reforms that prioritize intellectual freedom and open debate, advocating for a return to an education that genuinely stimulates critical thinking. The book is a reflection on the importance of preserving intellectual independence in schools and the need to rethink the direction of modern education.

Wow. Excellent review! The author's concern about the American education system is so relevant in today's society, not only in the US. The book is well-researched and filled with valuable guides to fostering educational reform. I'm intrigued by the practical remedies proposed by the author to become a respectful sceptic to participate in public discourse. making it a great read.
