Review of Shaking Up The World
Shaking Up the World: Stories of the Naval Academy Class of 1957 is a collection of wholesome stories organized by James D. Paulk. After publishing his previous book, James was offered to write a book about the stories of his classmates from 1957. Each chapter title provides information about the person involved in the action. Throughout the book, we get to learn about the lives and adventures of each class member. They have recalled the information as best they could. Most of the members have become very accomplished and important figures; some of them have been to space, and some have become presidents, GPS inventors, and so on; therefore, the book is full of stories that had an impact on our personal lives as well. Some of the chapters are more suspenseful than others, as they reflect on wars, but overall the book carries a light feeling to it.
There were a lot of things I loved about the book. First and foremost, I greatly appreciated the information about the identity of the person the story told about. Their lives are very interesting to read about and shine a light on many worldwide events. The stories, despite the tough circumstances they tell us about, display a sense of unity and lightheartedness. The author has managed to organize stories in an interesting and logical manner. I also loved the writing style, which further enhanced the book's enjoyability. It's also worth mentioning that the book was exceptionally well-edited; I came across almost no errors. Every story was very interesting and valuable to me. They gave me a broader understanding of the world around me. Also, the majority of the chapters were the perfect length.
There was nothing I disliked about this book. It was exceptionally enjoyable.
For all the positive aspects mentioned above, I rate the book a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend it to people who enjoy historical memoirs, suspense, and exploring. The class members have truly shaken up the whole world! Additionally, there are some minor religious passages down the line.
