Three years ago, the Mackies lost their son in a tragic accident. Summer Mackie took a leave of absence for over a year from her job at Buffalo General Hospital due to grief. She would volunteer with crime victims' assistance program as administrator of the Facebook group page which kept her presence at the forefront of her advocacy.

Thanks for a detailed review, however, I do feel that you added a lot of spoilers which will now take away the readers surprise and reading experience when certain events happen. Next time try to be more cryptic so that the reader want to find out what's going to happen next.

Your concerns about the investigation and the potential bias of Connor are valid and well-articulated. It's understandable that this aspect of the plot may have left you feeling dissatisfied. However, as you mentioned, it seems to be a deliberate choice by the author to create a more nuanced and realistic portrayal of the characters and their relationships. The fact that you still rated the book 5 out of 5 stars despite this reservation speaks to the overall quality and enjoyment of the story.
Your review highlights the importance of considering the author's intentions and the broader context of the narrative when evaluating a book. It also serves as a helpful guide for readers who are interested in suspenseful stories with elements of murder, crime, and romance, as well as those who appreciate a happy ending. Thank you for your contribution to the community with this thoughtful and well-written review.

The language is quite poetic, and the emotional conditions of the characters are penned beautifully. The plot twists are well embedded in the story.
Congratulations on being declared as 'BOTD'!
