Indeed, it is always important to learn to love oneself and work on self-development and improvement, as well as establishing healthy boundaries. This is not an easy task, but I am glad that the author shares her story honestly, as I am certain that the book is packed with many lessons.
Many thanks for the amazing review, @Clauson Justin.

The work transcends the mere description of the facts, offering a deep reflection on the impacts of trauma, the importance of self-care and the search for a new identity. Levisay shares her story with vulnerability and strength, inspiring readers to find their own voice and break cycles of abuse.

"Love Isn't Always the Answer" is a memoir on Shelley's journey through a toxic relationship with a manipulative narcissist. Themes such as abuse, mental health issues, as well as the focus on self development are all discussed within this book. My heart goes out to those who have to experience things like this.

Shelley's life seems to be a roller coaster ride of emotions. I am especially interested in the court sessions.

Thank you for the great review.

This is a book that addresses mental health issues in a romantic relationship. I especially value how educational this book is in presenting relevant information about mental health issues through a relationship--what a perfect situation to understand mental health more practically.

This book will appeal to young people; it is important to observe and address mental health-related issues in their personal and romantic lives. They will learn to love themselves, focus on self-development, and maintain healthy boundaries.
-Sometimes parents/guardians or the very adults we look upto, to explain these are unaware that they should do so, its upto the individual to atleast find it in a book. This seems to be one such book. Thank you for highlighting it.

Despite her professional success as a lawyer, a childhood marked by parental divorce and social isolation left her vulnerable to his manipulative charm. This memoir entails the painful cycle of emotional, psychological, and physical abuse she endured, offering a raw and honest account of her struggle for survival.

I don’t really enjoy memoirs. Fiction is more my thing. I do, however, believe that all of Shelley’s experiences are real and I have no doubt that his book will appeal to many reader that have endured the same things.

'Being a person who longed for attention and wanted to please people, she ended up meeting a narcissist who seemed to care about her and provide her with attention. As their relationship progresses, Matthew manipulates and abuses her.'
Sadly, there are many like this in the world today.

Love Isnt' Always the Answer holds the resonance of a compelling memoir that reflects back on the past pains and struggles of being in a toxic relationship. The author sounds like she has learned quite a bit upon reflection concerning everything that she endured from the variety of relationships and struggles throughout her life. I am known to read a memoir from time to time, but I don't think that this particular one will fit the bill for me.

Before reading this review I read the sample on Amazon. I thought the writer was someone who felt sorry for herself and wondered why nobody liked her. This review leads me to think the book is better once the reader gets into it. I hope the writer's life has improved since getting out of the abusive relationship.

I feel so bad for Shelley. She already went through the tough experience of having a broken family, and then she met someone who treated her really badly. I'm curious to know how she dealt with the abuse.

The reviewer's critiques of the book are very useful criticisms for the author. It is important to work with an editor to ensure that your story is properly written and flows well. Especially with such an important topic as this one, you don't want your reader to be caught up of technical matters instead of focused on the story.

Shelley L. Levisay’s "Love Isn’t Always the Answer" is truly an inspiring story. I like that she did not give in to her dysfunctional family but chose to make the most out of her life. I hope she ended things with Matthew. Congratulations on book of the day.
