I really would have liked to believe the opposite, because life on this planet for everyone would be much easier and happier if only love was always the answer. Unfortunately, I am not nearly that naive and problems won't simply disappear, but congrats with BOTD, anyway!

"Love Isn’t Always the Answer" by Shelley L. Levisay is a memoir that shares Shelley's journey through a toxic relationship with Matthew. I believe it is a book everybody should read, young and single to the married. because many people are married to narcisses in today's world. As toxic as a narcissistic person could be, all victims feel as though they are being favoured to be loved by a narcissist or they are not good enough. Thank you for the wonderful review!

A lot of people fall victim to narcissistic spousal violence. This book seems to shed light on some of the indicators. The author apparently let her vulnerability out in this book which have to be appreciated as there are a lot of individuals that are enduring toxic relationships and cannot find the courage to speak out or walk away. I hope this book finds itself in the hands of the right person.

Using your life as basis for your characters is one thing but sharing the exact events to the public, especially the traumatic ones, entails a different kind of courage. I admire people like Shelley and the book may have quite some technical flaws, but it being a source of strength & inspiration especially for young readers makes it worth the read

Thank you for your wonderful review. I'm sure it was very hard for the author to relive the traumatic events and to go on with her life. I did like how it was written, though the errors surprised me somewhat. I'm sure many others will enjoy it, but I don't think this is a book that I should read.

Great review! The memoir is one that should be read by people so that they understand the struggles that others face while in an abusive relationship. It is a book that will be helpful to understand the situation.

Good review! I like that you touched on the disjointed style of the narrator. As a self-proclaimed style-snob, I probably wouldn't be able to finish this one. I also disagree with the title a little bit. Love might not always be the answer, but I think it's important to delineate, also, that abuse isn't love, no matter how much attention they pay. Just food for thought.
