“Blame This on 'Nam Too- how education became indoctrination and what you can do about it” by Thomas Rowley is a non-fiction book that proposes an argument for changing the education system in America. Written by an ex-veteran and professor and he includes his experience and intellect in his writings. Life skills are not being taught in schools and colleges so the students are growing up without a knowledge of history, civics or the ability to use critical thinking. They should also be teaching cursive in elementary school. Thomas hopes that the curriculum would result in productive public discourse. Younger generations would begin to question, research and understand data to make informed decisions about media, be able to differentiate between facts and propaganda and form educated arguments. Educational shortfalls have led to social issues. Lacking these skills can lead to anti-social behavior, protests and involvement in the criminal world. Thomas references the George Floyd killing and the protests that followed and how the protestor’s critical thinking skills drove the outcomes of the protests. Readers will learn who and what they should believe. Sounds the U.S. Government in these troubling times. Readers that have children in schools will learn that they have the tools within to be advocates to make change. Sadly, the soon to be president would like to re-write history for January 6th and the media promulgated his hate speech and people believed him and voted for him. The fact that he will not keep his campaign promises will be swept under the rug by his sycophants. To save our country we need people to wake up and question the lies and stop following like sheep. This is an excellent book that deserves a 5 out 5-star rating.

The education system is one that needs to be reviewed on a regular basis as times change. I agree completely with the author's thoughts on education.

My specialty is way out of the education sphere, and I honestly don't see any benefit for myself in this book. It is somewhat ironic how such an important matter that influences every single person in the world has so many similar issues in different countries. The entire human race needs better education to help uncover true potential in people and change the world to a better place for everyone!

It's a fact that our education system is broken. We see it in our test scores and the lack of student engagement. The author has some views and opinions that I would like to hear about this topic. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

Here the author message is clear, those who run or manage education should be challenged. The most vital thing of them all, is that all readers must be enticed to support the change.

The education system really needs to change. It doesn't teach us how to do taxes or how to navigate the real world. I hope this book reaches the right audience—those who can make a difference.

I haven't read the book as a reviewer, but I would say the review was concise and quite straight to the point.
I love it!

Hi @Osarugue Irowa, I just read your comments on the official review of “Blame This on 'Nam Too- how education became indoctrination and what you can do about it” by Thomas Rowley and was disappointed that you did not provide more detail to show you read the official review and the sample. i.e. This is a non-fiction book that proposes an argument for changing the education system in America. @Mrlefty0706
