The book sounds incredible! I’m particularly drawn to your description of Monica as a “goal-getter” who doesn't embrace a victim mentality, and that she has a clear focus on what is important for her. The fact that she shares her personal story, and is also able to use her experience to tackle broader societal issues, is also very empowering.

I didnt like this review, it was very choppy sounding, and kept repeating this book almost as filler and the writing didn't really flow as a cohesive whole. The review did manage to inform the reader as to what the book is actually about, an autobiography of an author who comes from Africa, and has unique insights into life in America for an African immigrant, something that the reviewer can apparently relate to. The review didn't really make me any more interested in reading the book as when I read the sample.

Childhood is perhaps one of the most memorable periods in anyone's life. It is a time void of the worries of the world, a time when your biggest worries are finishing your homework so you have enough time to play with your friends.
She grew up in a household with four brothers and four sisters.
They were called the MC Family.
Their family were not rich in the typical sense, but they were rich in other ways. First and foremost, they are alive and well and had a good time. Their house were rich with serenity of music.

which he used to work in the crime department. He took pictures of crime scenes, which he then analyzed.
