Batty Wings by Marlene Rattigan is a sweet little tale! I think that this book is perfect for toddlers to connect with their grandparents.

One day, the speaker (it is just mentioned as 'I'; I think it is the sibling) and young Mia ask their grandma ('Nanna,' they call her affectionately) why her skin was loose when theirs wasn't. From the illustrations, it can be gleaned that the children are asking about the skin beneath their grandmother's arms. Conspiratorially, their grandmother makes sure that no one is watching and tells them that they are her magical 'batty arms.'.

The story goes on to tell about her adventures. I don't want to give spoilers, but it is very sweet and heartwarming. The story is simple, yet so creative. I am sure parents would love to read this as a bedtime tale to their little ones.

The illustrations are also on point! Beautiful pictures are given as background throughout the tale, bringing the story to life. My applause to the illustrator.

I found nothing wrong with this book, AT ALL! The story was excellent, the grammar impeccable, and the purpose well-served. I am happy to award it 5 out of 5 stars. I hope this author can bring out more such beautiful books for our kids!

I feel that the author has immense potential! Not only do I want to see more children's books, but more inspirational books, hopefully for teens and young adults. The author seems to have an amazing talent for creativity, and the illustrator has an excellent way with colors. I am excited to grab more such works to fill my heart with glee!

It's nice to read children's books every once in a while. I recommend it to all the stressful adults out there who deserve a break from the dark world we live in.
