Definitely not my cup of tea, because autobiographies were never my preferred reading material, especially if the book tells the story of a "journey in the field of Mathematics", the subject way too far from my area of expertise. Anyway, thanks for the book and congrats with BOTD!

Before concentrating on himself and his journey in the field of mathematics, which started at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Shmuel Kantorovitz's autobiography, author of The Wandering Mathematician, show us the migration of his family from Jerusalem to France and then to Morocco, and their experiences.
The on September 17, 1935, Saba Yitzhak's son, Shmuel Kantorovitz, was born. His father's maternal grandfather, Rabbi Shmuel Ashkenazi, inspired his name. Moshe, Tsiona, Rachel, and Netanel were Shmuel's four siblings. Before the children grew up and began traveling independently, the Jewish family lived together for the majority of their lives in Casablanca, Morocco, where they attended school and learned French. His wife, Savta Shoshana, aspired to become a teacher but could only instruct her children. Saba Yitzhak was a teacher with the Alliance Israëlite Universelle (AIU). In turn, their kids had a strong interest in education and learning.

The author Shmuel looks like love of education was inspiration in the family, as his father was a teacher and her mother was also interested in teaching.Shmuel was named after his grandfather who had four siblings. He didn't allow their migration from one country to another to be opstircles in his journey to be educated.

Great review! I hope to read more memoirs on here. You described the kind of memoir it will be and the content very well. I am curious to see what the life and work of a mathematician is like. I have never been to any of the places described in the book and I want to see what it was like through their eyes.
