This is a very remarkable and interesting review. The point written in the review are good takeaways from the book that piques the interest to further read the book. I like that even though he is a mathematician it was overly expressed in the book.

Shmuel was very good with numbers. He liked them so much that, when he grew up, he became a great mathematician. But this book is not about difficult problems, but about his life, his family and how dreams come true with effort and support.

In the #botd selected for today we have an autobiography of a wandering mathematician, just as the title of the book says. The author tells us about his life and that of his family from his childhood and his evolution. It is interesting to note that the author's family had great ease for learning and discipline for his good education. Good job

Thanks for your informative review. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. In general, I do like memoirs and his siblings and him are right around my mom's age. It sounds like he had an interesting childhood and great family life. Family means a lot. I have added it to my list of books to read.

This review was well written, it highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of the book, and gave a good synopsis what the book was about. I particularly liked that the reviewer mentioned that "some readers might find the names of people a little unfamiliar and elaborate." I am one of those readers, I found myself struggling with getting through the sample because of the author's insistence to keep switching back and forth between languages, which I found unecessary and offputting the book is in english, using the same word but in another language doesn't add to the book and slows down the reader.

My opinion of The Wandering Mathematician is very good. I am a convinced family man and I know exactly what the author of this book went through. I would like to congratulate the author for the courage to tell his story, especially since he did not always have easy things in life. And this does not lead everyone to make sacrifices for our families, so that they are better off and have the necessary things. Family comes first and Shmuel Kantorovitz I see that he knew this. I recommend this book to those who have not been tested in life. An educational story. Good luck to all who read.
