The Sound of Creation by Gabriella Zielke is a work of science fiction blending themes of artificial intelligence and the multiverse.

Ava Lawson, a tech CEO, is working on creating an AI platform that starts playing strange music out of the blue one day. The music has some people acting like lunatics, while for some it acts as a moment of clarity. Ava's creation has everyone's undivided attention when it is revealed that this music has the ability to extract truth. Meanwhile, in the seventh dimension, Zek, an apprentice creator, is informed that an enormous problem has arisen on the planet of his creation, that is, Earth. He is to go to Earth and fix this anomaly, and Ava becomes a person of interest in his quest. While Ava realises that Zek might have answers to her questions too. Ava, her team, and Zek join hands when it becomes clear that there's foul play at hand by forces not belonging to Earth.

The thought and imagination that went behind creating this masterfully unique science fiction are applaudable. It forces the human mind to think beyond the boundaries of the known and venture into a world of alternative possible realities. The book portrays humans living in the third dimension, basically a lower order, and talks about how only some ascend to the higher dimensions. I found this aspect of the book to be exhilarating. Other than the tech part, the story also revolves around Ava's self-discovery and dealing with past traumas. The book also delves into the resourcefulness of AI, one that can work alongside humankind and not overshadow them. However, at the same time, the ill effects of the same are portrayed through the medium of virtual video games, having the ability to alter the nervous system of the player.

All in all, it was the perfect brain-engaging book I have read in a while. Although there might be instances of boredom or info dumping throughout the book, that is the price I am willing to pay for a book like this. For the above-mentioned reasons, I rate this book five out of five.
