What did you think of the cover of "They Love You Until You Start Thinking for Yourself" by Monica Omorodion Swaida?

I am more attracted by the title than the visuals on the cover of this book. At first glance, without reading, it doesn't seem like a memoir;rather I saw it as a self-help book that will help you win, gain confidence, etc. For me, the title doesn't relate to the visuals so I wish it was different. If it was just for the visuals, I probably wouldn't pick up this book as easy as I would after reading the title.

I would not have picked this book in a bookstore because of the cover. I think it is confusing. Pictures in general, do not make me feel atracted to a book, even if they are autobiographical. With this one, I have two problems:
1. The pose is confusing and awkard. Is it meant to signify triumph?
2. The title highlights certain words that are not really connected, they do not share a special message.

I would not choose this book based on the cover. The colors are too stern and forbidding. The black background says "stay out." As for the lady's pose, she is lovely, and her outfit is elegant. But, what does her picture have to do with the message in the title? She looks ready for an evening out, but that's all the image conveys to me.

The way the author raised her hands and pinpointed the strong words from the book title with red color shows that there is a message she is trying to pass through. The moment I set my eyes on the book cover I knew it was going to be inspiring

Since it’s a memoir, I think having a photo of the author on the cover just makes sense. Her bold and confident body language speaks to her personality and life philosophy. But her wearing a dark dress set against a dark background lessens the visual impact. Highlighting love, thinking, and yourself in red is also an odd choice.

First look at the cover made me instantly feel as if it will be a boring read. Although, I find the title not so bad. It can be a great title if coupled with apt background, font, colors, and an image on the cover. The title suggests that there must be something inspirational to teach in the book. But the image of the author seems like a person trying to sell their personal development programs, and the text color does not look friendly either. Instead, I think a white background with black and yellow colored large fonts could have made a better impression with or without a symbolic image.

I did not like the cover, and honestly it took me a while to pick this book because the cover was throwing me off. It is not creative at all. Especially that pose; which has been repeated by so many others for years.
But as the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. I am glad I read it.

Very interesting cover, it promotes the author and implies that the book will include wisdom they have learned from their own life. I feel like the author's stance on the cover evokes freedom and joy, and again implies that the message of the book will help readers attain the same.
