Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review! It's always great to see a book so deeply appreciated, especially when it manages to live up to the high expectations set by its predecessor. Your comparison of Skellig to reconnecting with an old friend perfectly captures the immersive quality of Barr’s storytelling

The way Barr seamlessly integrates Irish and Celtic mythology into the narrative without making it feel like a history lesson is impressive. His ability to educate through storytelling makes Skellig both an engaging fantasy and a fascinating exploration of cultural legends.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! I’m thrilled to hear that “Skellig” resonated with you as much as “Roan.” It’s great to see Conor’s journey continue, and I appreciate your insights on the storytelling and character development. It sounds like an interesting book to read.

"SKELLIG: The Tales of Conor Archer, vol. 2" by E. R. Barr is the follow-up to Barr’s first novel, “Roan” and the successful sales of both books. There will undoubtedly be a book 3 and maybe many after that. Conor Archer is the main character and he descended from the Tinker lineage and the Otherworld. The two worlds were formed when the War in Heaven ended with the expulsion of Lucifer and the other dark angels. Connor like others with similar heritage have the ability to shapeshift. Connor is a hero and still a young man learning his way in the world. Connor lost the love of his life name Beth when she drowned during a heavy storm. Connor and his friend survived the storm but Connor will never forget Beth. I really enjoyed the sample and the author made this an easy-to-read book, just like Roan. Readers may want to read Roan before Skellig because of the continuation of many characters. Connor is sent by his family from Wisconsin to Ireland to learn more about his lineage that began in Ireland and he was able to develop his leadership skills. Along with his companions, they accept the fight with the Otherworld to save humanity. He and his band of heroes will fight the dark forces of the Otherworld. Connor’s band of heroes included his best friend Jace and his dog Troubles. The other members of the group include Selkies, long-dead Irish clergy, a Changeling and a Seraph will be required to sacrifice all to fight the ancient evils. Victory will save mankind. I immediately thought about Armageddon that will occur after the End Times. Being a devout Catholic I believe we could be in the End Times and the final fight between good and evil that will occur in the Middle East. Barr explains people and events so visually that I felt like I was there listening and learning about Irish and Celtic lore without it becoming a lecture on myth and religion. I was amazed at the intertwining of myths, monsters and religion and this will encourage me to start the remainder of the book as soon as possible. Skellig and Roan are both excellent books. I can see the potential for this book series to come to the silver screen.

Conor adjusts to his new life in Ireland. It is quite different from his home in Wisconsin. It is up to Conor and his friends to prevent the dark forces of the underworld from uniting. Through Conor's journey, the author educates readers on Irish folklore and delivers an incredible adventure.

Good job, you've written a concise and clear review about the book Skellig: The Tales of Conor Archer, Vol. 2. As an avid fan of mythology and folklore, I should try this one. However, I think I should read from Roan first before reading Skellig, so I can digest the storyline. Thank you for your enthusiastic review that made me want to try E.R Barr's series as soon as possible.

It is so rare to find real good urban fantasy, but according to reviews, we stumble on true treasure with this series. Not only does it seem to be written well and have an existing premise, but it is also based on actual mythology, folklore, and religion entwined with each other.
